Lakewood Economic Development Summit

The purpose of this summit is to gather those in the City of Lakewood with an economic development, work force development, or other related mission. Our goal is to begin a dialogue between these organizations and businesses, focusing on improving local business growth and shared success.

Comics 101 Course at Padre Pio Academy
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
A comprehensive 6 week comic class begins today and meets Wednesdays until August 29th. Cost is $115 and class is open to ages 12 and up. All are welcome!
This class is a survey of creating comics from start to finish, and all the steps that go into making it, taught by Marvel Comics Editor Nicole Boose and local artist/illustrator Len Peralta. Call 216 571-0174 for more information.
Course objectives include:
-Emphasize how to combine words with images to communicate ideas and events
-Discuss how to break down a scene into panels to create effective pacing
-Develop story and character concepts
-Explore drawing techniques for strong character design, action, backgrounds
-Use color and lettering to enhance storytelling
