FREE Women's Walking Club
7:00 AM - 8:00 AM

Move over, joggers! This group is for any woman who appreciates the beauty of Lakewood park, a nice (and easy) way to workout, a little motivation to get moving, and some time to chat, think, inspire, or dream. The goal of this group is to move together, chat about whatever, and start the day off on the "right foot"! Walking has proven to increase the daily activity in your life, leading to a healthier heart, mind, body, and spirit. All walks will be lead by Certified Holistic Health Coach, Selina M. Almodovar, Founder of Well Said Living.

Lakewood Park (meet in front of the Women's Pavilion)

Lakewood Historical Society Scavenger Hunt
12:00 PM
Test your sleuthing skills as you navigate Lakewood to find unique architectural details! Join the Lakewood Historical Society by celebrating the 5th Annual National Preservation Month Scavenger Hunt.

Beginning May 10, participants can download a list of clues from the Lakewood Historical Society’s webpage and begin a search for twenty architectural details hidden within Lakewood’s urban landscape. This year’s theme is archways, a component that architects have been using for centuries; find out where and how they keep Lakewood supported.

Completed entries must be submitted to Rozi’s Wine House or Lakewood Hardware by May 20 at 7:00 p.m. Entries with all correct answers will be entered into a drawing held at a free public program titled “History of the Cleveland Museum of Art” on May 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Lakewood Public Library Auditorium.

Participants have significant odds of winning certificates from local merchants like Mahall’s Twenty Lanes, the Beck Center for the Performing Arts, Blackbird Bakery, Barocco Grill, and the Breadsmith, among others! Winners do not need to be present at the drawing. Prizes from Lakewood merchants and organizations will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners.

Visit lakewoodhistory.org or Vintage Lakewood on Facebook for more information and to download the entry form.

"How Cameras Work"
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
This month Northeast Ohio Personal Computers welcomes Jayson Polansky for his program "How Cameras Work". Jayson's talk will take us through an understanding of how our cameras work. Whether you use a point-and-shoot, DSLR or a smartphone, the presentation will help you make more informed decisions to create the images you intended. Bring your camera with you.

Jayson Polansky is a freelance photographer from Bay Village, Ohio. His passion for seeing the beauty in all things was reignited when the first digital camera became affordable to the general public. His real job, as an audio engineer mixing the sounds for live sports broadcasts, has allowed him to photograph over 25 US states and 10 countries. When he is not busy clicking away behind the lens and working in live sports television, he teaches photography workshops and tries to see the world through the eyes of his 3 year old son. Teaching is not new to Jayson. He was a professor of audio engineering for 8 years at Cuyahoga Community College.

Come at 6:30 pm refreshments followed by the main program at 7 pm. This event is open to all. For additional information, go to www.neopc.org.
