Lakewood 360 Community Discussion
6:00 PM
Lakewood 360 will host a discussion of the novel Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, at the Lakewood Public Library on Sunday, November 9th at 6:00. Speak, which is being read by 9th grade English students at Lakewood High School, is the story of Melinda Sordino who is raped at a summer party just before the start of her freshman year. Holding onto her secret, Melinda struggles into silence and her place as an outcast at her high school and at home. Join parents and community members as we discuss this powerful book and ways that we can support our youth to maintain heathy relationships and powerful voices. You do not have to have read the book to join in discussion.

(Lakewood 360 is the collaborative organization of Lakewood parents, community members and the Lakewood Family Collaborative which is an organization of like-minded agencies and individuals who all want to ensure the highest quality of life for the children and the families of Lakewood. Lakewood 360, like its parent organization Ranger 360, is engaged in a collaborative effort to develop a school and community based response to power-based personal violence in Lakewood, Ohio.)
