Hospice Volunteer Education
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Saturday and Sunday, April 18 & 19 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Room A100, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110. Hospice of the Western Reserve welcomes anyone 13 years of age or older interested in making a difference in the lives of others to attend this training. Most volunteers interested in working with patients attend all four sessions while volunteers in non patient areas and teen volunteers only attend the first four hours of the session on April 18. RSVP required. Contact the Volunteer Team at 800-707-8922 (6881). Classes are also offered at other times and sites throughout the year. 10:00 am: Ohio History And Transportation OR How Ohio Changed From Being The Wild West Frontier Into A Political, Industrial and Commercial Power, John Dailey, Presenter

John Dailey will explore the early history of the Ohio country, the growth of its transportation systems and how it changed from the wild western frontier into an industrial, commercial and political power. The transportation systems that fed this growth changed the United States forever.

1:00 pm: The New Look of HeritageQuest Online, with Jean Hoffman

HeritageQuest Online is available at home through your library card. The site recently underwent a major change. We'll look at the changes, what's good, bad, and how to get the most out of it now.

No entry fee. $5.00 to buy a paddle ($2.50 each additional paddle) to bid quarters on great prizes. There will also be shopping and a Chinese raffle for a great time to be had by all!!

Night at the Races
6:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Grab a table of friends and come on down to the races! The $20.00 event ticket includes dinner, beer, snacks and dessert, plus an opportunity to purchase tickets for 20 fun raffle baskets. Cogswell Hall is a permanent solution to homelessness that offers quality low-income housing with social services, builds community and advocates for disabled and economically disadvantaged individuals.
