Women’s Leadership Summit: Beating the Odds

CLEVELAND, Ohio ¬– The Office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and several community partners will host the second annual “Women’s Leadership Summit: Beating the Odds,” on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at the Global Center for Health Innovation. The conference, which is free and open to the public, is a one-day program aimed at helping women overcome challenges in their personal and professional lives.
“Ohio women are achieving remarkable things, and we must build on their success so all women can have an opportunity to succeed,” said Brown. “The Women’s Leadership Summit aims to celebrate the accomplishments of women and highlight strategies for overcoming obstacles to success.”
Dee Perry of WCPN Ideastrem will moderate the program. Speakers include: U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown; Pulitzer Prize Winner Connie Schultz; Dr. Janet Kavandi, Astronaut and Director of the NASA Glenn Research Center; Sara Nelson, International President of the Association of Flight Attendants; LaTasha C. Watts of the Purple Project; Dr. Penny R. Smith, President and CEO of Alegria Technologies; Barbara R. Snyder, President of Case Western Reserve University; Philanthropist Yvonne Pointer; Mary Verdi-Fletcher, Founder and Artistic Director of Dancing Wheels; Elizabeth Heller Allen, Senior Vice President, External Affairs, MetroHealth; and more.

The class will cover how to get started, using home sources, how to organize your material, the basics of documenting and great websites you can use. Our special invitation: BOGO - Bring One Get One - invites you and a guest to attend this class for $15. You must register yourself and your guest by name. Harmonic Journeys Holistic Fair - Renaissance!

Save the date - September 10, 1499! Oh, wait, I mean 2016! The Harmonic Journeys September holistic fair will be all about fun - with a Renaissance theme! The first 50 guests get a free "dragon eye", there will be face painting for the kids, lessons on renaissance era dancing, and a chance to make your own magic wand! All this along with our regular vendors, practitioners and lectures on holistic topics with a renaissance theme. All this for only $5.00 admission!
