TED Talk: Moral Qualities of the 3 Main Political Parties

In keeping with this year’s theme at Olmsted Unitarian Universalist Congregation: “Healing the Heart of Democracy”, we will view and discuss a video of Jonathan Haidt explaining the Moral Qualities of the three main political parties to an audience at the CATO Institute. Mr. Jonathan Haidt is the author of “The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion”. Previous TED Talks Sundays of Mr. Jonathan Haidt’s videos have been well received and prompted lively discussion. Led by Olmsted uu member Brian Warren. Please stay for coffee after the discussion.

West Side Community Sukkot Celebration

Join the west side Jewish community in a fun-filled afternoon celebrating Sukkot!

Enjoy learning how to build a sukkah, plus crafts, stories, snacks and fun!!

As Sukkot celebrates the fall harvest, we ask you to please bring a box of single-serve breakfast items (granola bars, breakfast bars, crackers, cereal, apple sauce squeezes, etc.) to assemble and decorate breakfast bags for the Ronald McDonald house.
Adults and children welcome.

Body Awareness

It's Body Awareness week and Phyllis along with her partner, Joyce, are hosting a guest artist in their home. Their family is quickly divided as Frank, a photographer famous for his female nude portraits, settles in. Tensions rise as Jared, Joyce’s grown son who continues to deny his symptoms related to Asperger’s Syndrome, turns to Frank for advice in this smart and generous comedy by Obie and Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker. This production contains strong language/adult content.
