We’re in this Together: Integrating Mental Health & Addictive Services

NAMI Greater Cleveland will host its second annual conference on Friday, May 5, at the Holiday Inn in Independence. We're in this Together: Integrating Mental Health & Addictive Services is designed to assist professionals with the resources to better address the unique needs of individuals living with a dual diagnosis and help peers forge viable paths for treatment and recovery. Social workers/counselors, nurses and chemical dependency counselors are eligible for 5.0 CEUs.

Our Keynote Speaker for the conference is Robert Drake, M.D., Ph.D. who is the Andrew Thomson Professor of Psychiatry, Community and Family Medicine, and Health Policy and Clinical Practice at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and the former Director of the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center. Dr. Drake will present an overview of best practices, skills and resources necessary for a successful integrated treatment program for individuals living with a dual diagnosis.

The conference panel includes a plenary session and four afternoon breakout sessions. State Representative Marlene Anielski, 6th District Ohio House will be the luncheon speaker.

NAMI Greater Cleveland Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony

NAMI Greater Cleveland will host its Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 5, at the Holiday Inn-Independence, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

This year's Guest Speaker is State Representative Marlene Anielski 6th District Ohio House. Rep. Anielski has been a leading advocate for suicide prevention since joining the House in 2011, including sponsoring the "Jason Flatt Act, Ohio, in honor of Joseph Anielski" (HB 543, 129th General Assembly), designating September 10th as "Ohio Suicide Prevention Day" (HB 149, 130th General Assembly), and expanding access to suicide prevention programs on college campuses (HB 28, 131st General Assembly). Additionally, she voted for the most recent budget bill (HB 64), which appropriated $2 million for suicide prevention efforts.

The Centers for Families and Children: Eugene Brudno Memorial Organization Award.
Kate Proehl, DNP, PMHCNS-BC of The Centers for Family and Children: Mental Health Innovator Award.
Annella Fernandez: Mental Health Teen Award
William M. Denihan, Chief Executive Officer of the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County: Lifetime Achievement Award
