Havdalah in Lakewood
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The Jewish Lakewood Alliance (JLA) is hosting its first public event. Havdalah marks the end to shabat, the Jewish day of rest. This gathering is a celebration of togetherness and life. We are called to use all of our senses - see the flame on the candle and feel its heat, smell the spices, hear the music, taste the wine (or mead or Old City soda)...
All ages, cultures, and religions welcome!
Potluck food will be provided courtesty of JLA community members.
Kosher available upon request. Please inquire in advance.
Suggested $1 cash donation; Requested items for donation are below.
All donations collected will be donated to a prechosen local charity.
This Havdalah, we are sponsoring the Lakewood Food Bank.
Items of need:
Personal care items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, feminine care)
Fresh Produce (in original packaging)
Non-expired food items
Lakewood Food Bank serves Lakewood (as well as some Rocky River and Westlake) families. Currently, 900 families (1200 individuals) rely on Lakewood Food Bank.
