LAKEWOOD BUDDHIST CENTER
FIRST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Songtsen Gampo Buddhist Center will be celebrating their First Anniversary in Lakewood! Located at 14023 Madison Avenue, this Buddhist Center offers guided meditation, classes, family programs, retreats, seminars, and more.

Director Ani Palmo Rybicki, a native Clevelander, has been a nun in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition for 25 years and has been teaching in the Greater Cleveland area since 2003. She is delighted to be part of Lakewood’s vibrant community and looks forward to many more years here. “Lakewood has been so welcoming to us, and we love serving the community!” said Ani Palmo, “People tell us all the time that coming to our Center has had a very positive effect on their lives.”

Songtsen Gampo’s First Anniversary Celebration will start at 10:30am on Sunday February 17, 2019 and will provide guided meditation for all, in addition to refreshments, crafts for kids, and a photo gallery showcasing their events from the previous year. There will also be raffles and games for young and old! Free and open to the public.

Deliberate! Climate Change Tax

Mike Reiling is a retired high school theology teacher and a retreat leader who specializes in adult programs centering around the thought of Teilhard de Chardin, evolutionary spirituality and spiritual journaling. Jewish relations with African Americans in mid-twentieth century urban neighborhoods like Glenville and Mount Pleasant (Kinsman) left a lasting legacy, with implications for their enduring but sometimes misunderstood connection. Join author and urban studies professor Todd Michney, to address ethnic trepidation, tolerance, and turnover in such neighborhoods. A book signing follows the talk.
