Why the Death Penalty is Dying
6:00 PM - 7:15 PM
An online event called “Why the Death Penalty is Dying” will take place on Wednesday, November 10, 6:00-7:15 p.m., and is organized by Ohioans to Stop Executions, the Ashland Center for Nonviolence, and the EJUSA Evangelical Network.

Speakers will include:

- Alan Johnson, Doctor of Ministry & Former Journalist at The Columbus Dispatch
- George Alexander, Former Ohio Prison Warden and Chaplain
- Demetrius Minor, Manager, Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty & Ohio Native
- Jennifer Pryor, Director of Organizing, Ohioans to Stop Executions

"Evangelicals believe that all people are valuable, that no person is more or less valuable than another,” said Sam Heath, manager of the EJUSA Evangelical Network and host of the November 10 event. “The death penalty in Ohio is fraught with racial bias. The death penalty in Ohio sends the message that people of color are valued less. We reject that because people deserve more dignity than that. Ohio's death penalty must end. This event's conversation is a part of that."

The death penalty conversation will take place via Zoom. To register, go to this link:
