The Board of Education at its Nov. 15 meeting welcomed and congratulated seven outstanding seniors from Lakewood High School for their academic performance in the National Merit Scholarship competition. Recognized by the Board were Brian Brink, Michael Pizzo, Kevin Ritter and Carter Strong as National Merit Semifinalists and Charles Kemp, Anne Latsko and Bethanny Zettler as National Merit Commended Scholars.
“Recognizing these wonderful students is one of the highlights of the year for our Board,” said President Betsy Shaughnessy. The students also received proclamations from State Sen. Dale Miller, who attended the meeting, Rep. Michael Skindell and Rep. Dennis Kucinich.
