Debate Drive-By
Was running to the eastside when I got detoured around the debate. A couple shots while driving by.

Diffusion breeds confusion. Confusion is the enemy of a democracy.
We see it everywhere, there are no longer facts, norms, continuity.

I see all the stories fact-checking this debate and they seem so irrelevant. It was well beyond reality.

Re: Debate Drive-By
I've been posting elsewhere A LOT lately, all on the national election, but this has a local angle. It's a quote Jim O'Bryan mentions frequently.
--
Here's my one takeaway from the debate. A quote from George Bernard Shaw which I see as advice for Joe Biden.
"I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it."
--
Actually it could be advice for the Cleveland area as well. This is another major event involving Trump that has gone badly. He has the reverse Midas touch. Everything he touches turns to dreck.

It's not "those national political events," it's Trump. Latest news is he's headed for Walter Read. That's a sign of the possible end for a person like Trump.
And he probably contracted it in Cleveland or traveling here.
I dislike the man intensely but I don't wish Covid on him. Everyone who has had it and lived to tell has said the same thing: "you don't want this."
The things they say about him - overweight, of a certain age, out of shape - they could say about me. I can't be happy about Trump getting Covid.

Ahhhh, the Cleveland Clinic. You know the place. It is now, and has been for the past few years, the only healthcare available in Lakewood, due to what I believe, was the misappropriation of city assets by city leaders.
Such a manipulative institution.
(And, before anyone refutes me, I am speaking from a personal experience.)
I can only imagine the meetings that occurred today with attorneys and the publicity department upon the positive diagnosis of 11 people, who were involved with setting up the presidential debate.
I hope, that the Clinic will provide that "world class care" they're so fond of touting, to all those who've tested positive.
To add to this mess, Case Western Reserve University is declining comment on whether it upgraded the filtration system in the Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion prior to the debate.
Meanwhile, colleges, schools, restaurants and other venues continue to open.
The general public is supposed to believe, that all safely precautions are being put into place.
If the 1st Presidential Debate is an example of safety protocol, then it's obvious to me, that I need to continue my self-quarantine and go out only for essentials.

These are the best candidates their parties could produce for this office.
Americans voted on them in primaries.
The debate clarified to the rest of the world what America is capable of.
Because it is broadcast live. And the reruns are online.

The only one with a big building. Where, to my knowledge, they don't even offer COVID testing, at least not on a wide scale.

Like the experimental, money-is-no-object care Trunp is receiving? I doubt it.
