Brad Paisley's H2O tour rolls through Blossom Music Center
Country superstar Brad Paisley rolled into Blossom Music Center with his 2010 H2O tour and brought plenty of water with him. As soon as Paisley took the stage, a downpour began and kept fans in the sold-out lawn drenched, and fans in the packed pavilion cool with a light mist throughout the one hour and 45 minute set.
Earlier in the evening, openers Josh Thompson, Easton Corbin and Steel Magnolia entertained fans on a side stage up the Blossom hill, while Small Town USA originator Justin Moore opened main stage activities at 7pm. His set included an ode to his late Grandfather, and dedicated it to anyone that lost someone to cancer. Fitting, as some of the proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Cleveland Clinic's fight against cancer.
Darius Rucker took the stage after Moore, delivering an uplifting 50-minute set with songs from his number one selling album, Learn to Live, and visited his Hootie and the Blowfish days with “I Only Wanna Be With You”. The 11-song set was a perfect way to lead into a fun and eclectic bill on the H2O tour.
Brad Paisley and his seven band members took the stage to a blue light wash and green lasers projecting into the crowd from a second level of stage platforms. Paisley’s set lasted for one hour and 55 minutes, leading right up to the 11 pm curfew for Blossom performances.
“How many people like fishing and drinking beer?” asked the ACM Vocalist of the Year, before ripping through “Catch All the Fish''. Acoustic performances of “Letter to Me'' and the haunting, but beautiful “Whiskey Lullaby” pleased the crowd. Brad finished with “Welcome to the Future” and “Then”, before taking the stage for an encore of “Ticks'' and “Alcohol''.
