Hillary Clinton visits Lorain County Community College
Hillary Clinton visited Lorain County Community College on Sunday afternoon to speak about issues that are important to greater Cleveland voters. It was her first time in the county since making a primary campaign stop at Admiral King High School last spring.
The New York Senator was greeted by 1,000 eager supporters of her and presidential nominee Barack Obama at LCCC’s College Center. Clinton won Lorain County over Obama 56 percent to 42 percent back in March.
"Barack and I may have started on two separate paths," Clinton told supporters, "but we are on one journey now."
Clinton also took the opportunity to take jabs at Republican nominee John McCain and current president George W. Bush on their stances on the economy and health care. Clinton alluded to a comment President Bush made when he visited Cleveland in July of 2007. Bush was quoted of saying “I mean, people have access to health care in America. After all, you just go to an emergency room.”
Clinton also rephrased a part of her speech at the Democratic National Convention by saying “No way, now how, no McCain, and no Palin.”
The crowd of 1,000 local residents roared in support. It was the only reference made to GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
Senator Clinton made one more stop in Ohio when she visied Ellet High School in Akron on Sunday afternoon.
