  • Walking in I see Vince Frantz and Stephanie Toole
  • Then off to my favorite truck at the event, The Library Van! I learned that this is not the original library van, but Library van 002. While this one had not been in any parades it is believed that it will be in this year's 4th of July Parade. See a star truck waiting to be discovered.
  • Then the rest of the trucks. Wow! This event grows every year, and gets better and better. I love the fact that so many great events are building their own distinct flavor and brand. It is great that we have so many different groups working on projects and festivals. Keeps them from being homonginized like some faux city production.
  • Then off to the SWAT trucks. While it may look like Pat Fiorelli is thinking, What is he doing out of jail?"He was actually telling me that the SWAT Run made $17,000 for Families Of Fallen Officers. Good job, another great Lakewood run event is the SWAT 5K Run, closing in on 1,000 runners!
  • The Lakewood Board of Recreation.
  • Nice size crowd all day. Lots of friendly faces, while everyone was having fun.
  • Director of Lakewood's Health and Human Services Dottie Buckon adjust a bike helmet while explaining that if she did not wear that helmet she could end up like that guy taking pictures.
  • Lakewood Kiwanis, one of the great things about this club is their scholarship program. They do so much, and it all goes for very good causes.
  • PTA, entertaining...
  • ... the Crino kids one, two, three!
  • CERT handing out goody bags.
  • The Markling Clan!
  • Did they just have another between photos!
  • Charlie Page takes a break from painting his house to check the trucks with the youngest Page.
  • Ex-Lakewood Planning Director Tom Jordan with his family. Tom is running for the County Council seat representing our area.
  • Kara Goellar with the Markling kids! Huh? did they just have three more, or am I being followed?
  • Ok, let's get serious back to the trucks and some fun!
  • Stefan Powell of The Forestry Department repels down from 110'.
  • Stefan Powell from the Forestry Department, and crew. OK here is the deal you look the other way. I go up in the basket... I swear I have run a hundred of these things... went up with the Blue Angels, I swear.... no one will ever know, and, I will put your picture on the website.
  • Looking South from 110' up!
  • Wow.
  • Coming back down to earth.
  • Joe Beno with that I caught you... look.
  • Now in full disclosure. Those photoe were taken by Stefan. When I repeatedly asked to go up in the bucket, they would not budge. I think the comment was "Absolutely Not!" Then Roman and the other guy formed a barracade between me and the turck.  Stefan did say he would take some the next time he went up. I would like to thank him and everyone from the city. Walking around today watching so many city workers and civic groups reaching out, having fun, enjoying the day together made me so glad I live in Lakewood. LECPTA and City of Lakewood - Thank you.
  • Back to the trucks. The Rossen family.
  • Look at this. This is what it is all about. Trucks, families meeting them People having a great time. For a couple hours today the rest of the world just seemed to slip away.
  • The Kompia Kids being driven to school by madman Mike while he texts.
  • One really old grizzly guy with one of the hardest working women in Lakewood Toni Gelsimino. Director of The Family Room
  • I just love this photo. Toni talking with parents about something, while their son is thinking, "Dad there is face painting over there... trucks...ballon guy.... snowcones..... trampolines....... trucks...ballon guy.... snowcones..... trampolines....... trucks...ballon guy.... snowcones..... trampolines.......... trucks...ballon guy.... snowcones..... trampolines....
  • This is what life is all about. Stoping looking, enjoying family, friends, neighbors and smell the roses or blow the bubbles/
  • As I get ready to leave I run into the Frantz family watching dad...
  • ... their dad Vince grab some air while Michael Fleanor and his son look on.
  • Activity in Lakewood Park from one end to the other. Thanks again to the LECPTA, The City of Lakewood, and everyone that took park. Incredible day, it is appreciated by all.
