NY Trip 2 - Chelsea
Photos on my recent trip to NY this was a trip around Manhattan to the Art Galleries of Chelsea. Recently re-discovered.©2008

Lakewoodite now New Yorker Tom Warren as we head off to the galleries. -
As we stop by a friend's place to check out the view from the roof. Elevator down! -
Felix, who has a nice but cluttered place on the top floor next to the elevator engines. He was happy they were broke. -
After a quick sctoch and a tour of the roof we head back down to the street. -
Tom who does a lot of work for other NY Artist gets a call from Linda. -
After our NY Style pizza we walk into the home of the 6' Sub, and I take this photo. The woman owning the place freaked out and said "No photos without buying something." So I bought a Old Cappacola sandwich. -

Tom who normally uses and 8"x10" view camera for work, and hates digital cameras, loves his new camera phone. -
Leaving the ATM Gallery which got its name from the ATM Machine next to it. -

24th Street, was run down and nothing. It now house 10 of the hottest galleries in the city which is about 1/10th of the galleries that have sprung up in the last 5 years in Chelsea. -

Followed by more multi million dollar brownstones and very expensive apartment. -

Finally some real NY taffic. -
One last shot of the Empire State Building as I head back to the SeaTrack. -
Another sculpture right on the street in front of the Barking Dog lounge. -
So the guy on the right pulls up in his new BMW SUV parks and starts going through the garbage cans. Then to the next corner and the same... -
Jeanne and Jerry Gerson, meet up and we head off for dinner.
