  • Within hours of the announcement, barriers started going up, as Governor Sarah Palin, was going to speak at Lakewood Park, in Lakewood Ohio, the day before election.
  • I would like to think the Lakewood experience, causes Governor Palin to take a breath and look into her husband's eyes and thinks, "you got a chance."

  • As I get to the ourside perimeter I get a very good view of the rally in full swing.
  • Arriving at the park, protesters are everywhere. Penguins for Change?!

  • Rally morning, crack of dawn I drive past a Lakewood McCain Palin supporter.
  • Sarah Palin's motor home arrives.
  • Lakewood at it's best, fall colors everywhere.
  • She leaves his side to address the crowd.
  • As we zoom back a little we see more crowd control.
  • She addresses a crowd of red, white and blue.
  • and the reason why, Obama fans grow and grow on the outside of the outer ring.
  • The Rice boys, Gary and father Bob, make the trip to the rally. Sorry guys, no radicals inside the outer perimeter.
  • The Observer is observed by fellow Observer Gary Rice.
  • Opposite the park, the radical group "Nurses for Obama" starts to mass.
  • Even Emma sports Obama swag.
  • On Lake Road, members of the Davis family (Julianne and Steve) keep the thought of PEACE at the forefront of everyone's mind.
  • Mary Breiner and Julianne Davis seem to indicate that they are the Precious Cargo.
  • Meanwhile father Steve, gives us a big wink.

  • One hour after Governor Palin arrives, her motorcade leaves.
  • Walking away back to our car we see a typical Lakewood Joe, Pete Dangerfield.
  • While up ahead, the aging hippie refuses to give up on peace.
  • 11:00am, it is all over.
