Lakewood police evacuated a neighborhood after a man threatened to blow up a propane tank.

Officers were called to a home on Fry Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. to transport a 32-year-old man to the hospital with mental problems.

When police arrived, the man pulled out a lighter and threatened to ignite a propane tank.

SWAT officers and the CERT team were called in to help and that is when the standoff started.
