What Are Your Favorite Snacks?

Create your own recipes with some favorite, healthy snack ideas this month:

  • Orange segments dipped in vanilla yogurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Apples, sliced thin, with crunchy low-fat peanut butter
  • Popsicles made from any kind of fruit juice
  • Frozen grapes
  • Low fat yogurt & fruit smoothie (many recipes online!)
  • Low-fat cottage cheese with unsweetened canned pineapple chunks & sliced almonds
  • Low-fat cottage cheese with diced cucumber, chopped tomatoes, red onion and/or zucchini, seasoned with salsa
  • Cucumber "boats" filled with low-fat red pepper hummus
  • Celery stuffed with low fat cream cheese or peanut butter
  • Try the many flavors of hummus as a dip for veggie sticks or tortilla strips or both
  • Fat free popcorn mixed with a few pretzels, and nuts and/or dried fruit
  • Low fat chocolate or vanilla soymilk (or blend with crushed ice for a ‘shake’)
  • Any low fat yogurt mixed with walnuts (or another favorite)
  • Any low fat yogurt topped with fresh berries
