Crestmont North Nursing Facility Celebrates Three Centenarians
On June 16th Margaret Hleibay will celebrate her 104th birthday. Margaret worked until she was 80 years old and her boss (who is now 105 years old) still sends her flowers on her birthday. Margaret was a window model early in her career and later worked as a secretary to the President of Hupp Corporation.
Currently, there are three people over 100 years young residing at Crestmont North Nursing Facility. One thing that they all have in common is that they all love chocolate and treat themselves to it every day. In fact, Margaret chose chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for her birthday cake to share with her friends and family. They are all also very active, attending group activities which are physical, cognitive and spiritual and they enjoy independent activities when they choose to.
You may have read about Art Mone, Crestmont's 106 year old who recently celebrated his birthday. In February Art, looking very handsome and sporting a new suit traveled to Malley's on Brookpark Road for a photo shoot and was featured in Malley's Easter catalog (which is now framed and hanging in his room at Crestmont). Art works on upper body strength in our physical therapy department which allows him to wheel himself through the facility daily.
Margaret has many family members who travel from Michigan frequently to spend time with their beloved "Aunt Meg". They also e-mail her often and she loves getting letters from them. It always cheers her up when she hears she got a letter from one of her various family members. Margaret enjoys the outdoors, live music and she chose crooner, Joel Scigliano to entertain at her birthday party.
Our third and youngest centenarian, Erma White has children and grandchildren who visit after school and they always make sure she has a good supply of chocolate to enjoy every day. Erma will celebrate her 101st birthday in August.
