CCLAS Bake Sale - Bakers Needed!

Once again, CCLAS will be participating in the Lakewood Arts Festival by hosting a Bake Sale on August 6 from 10 am to 6 pm. This year we will be partnering with the Citizen Committee for Leashed Dogs in Lakewood Parks. They will lend their baking skills and provide volunteer support at our booth.

We are looking for delicious donations to sell at our booth! If you can donate, here’s a few guideline and suggestions:

• All food treats must be divided up into serving sizes and packaged in a zipped locked bag or saran wrap, according to food sales guidelines. (We cannot sell food that is exposed, like a cupcake on a plate, it must be wrapped.)
• We encourage generous serving sizes, not just one cookie, but throw in a few : )
• When building your serving size bags, keep in mind we are pricing items in one dollar increments, to avoid handling coins.
• Along with the basics, we encouraged specialty treats like vegan, gluten-free, or “for pets only”.
• Please do not donate items that need to dished out or require refrigeration.
• Food donations can be dropped off on the day of the Lakewood Arts Festival at our booth on the corner of Belle Ave. and Detroit Ave.
• Please avoid dropping off plates or baskets that needs to be returned.
• If you food donation has nuts in it, please let us know when you drop off the items. We will add a special sticker on it to let our patrons know.
• If you want to help, but don’t have time to bake. We would appreciate bottles of water or cans of soda or juice boxes to sell.

All of our monetary donations and proceeds from the sales of donated treats will support the animals at the Lakewood Animal Shelter and CCLAS’ foster program. It’s important that we continue our work with the community, by providing spay and neuter assistance with animals adopted from the shelter, along with funding for some medical support. With the help of our CCLAS supporters we can make this happen!
