Front Porch Concerts A Highlight In Downtown Lakewood

It’s summertime and there is nothing better than being outside listening to live music. Well…okay, there is something better: being outside in Downtown Lakewood and listening to live music. This year is the fourth year for live music in downtown Lakewood, brought to you through the collaboration of many. This year, LakewoodAlive, the Lakewood Public Library, stART NEO and Vance Music collaborated to bring eight weeks of live music to the downtown district.

We hope you didn’t miss Lakewoodite Joe DeJarnette and his Quintet, who kicked off the concerts Friday, July 8th. But if you did, don’t worry! We have much more in store for you on Friday nights in July and August. Working with stART NEO (startneo.org, formerly Lakewood is Art), an incubator for emerging and contemporary art ideas and visions, LakewoodAlive was able to kick-off the summer by lining up an initial list of bands. Ultimately the line-up of eight weeks of music was completed with the financial support of Lakewood Hospital, Lakewood Public Library, Discount Drug Mart and Panera Bread.

So be sure to mark your calendars, pack a picnic or pick up some carry-out from one of the many downtown Lakewood restaurants and join us at 7 p.m. on the front porch of Lakewood Public Library for a free concert:

July 29th – The Sultans of Bing

August 5th – VMS Student Rock Bands

August 12th – The Numbers Band

                        August 19th – Diana Chittester

August 26th – The Revolution Brass Band
