LHS Vocalists Part Of Trinity Cathedral Performance

Some Lakewood High School vocalists will be fortunate to be part of a very special performance later this month. On Friday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m., Trinity Cathedral downtown (2230 Euclid Ave.) is presenting Benjamin Britten’s St. Nicolas Cantata.

St. Nicolas Cantata is a 9-movement piece based on the life of St. Nicolas, who lived in the 4th century in what is now Turkey on the border of Greece. He was known for his generosity to the needy and as a protectorate of children.

Todd Wilson, the choral director of Trinity Cathedral, contacted LHS choral director Dr. Lisa Hanson earlier this fall to ask if some of her students would be interested in singing the children’s chorus part in this performance. Eleven of Hanson's students will be part of the performance, with their own parts to sing and will be conducted by Hanson and Wilson.

Performing on behalf of Lakewood High will be Alexandra Bonacuse, Riley Faulhammer, McCall Gorbach Foster, Brianna Kaviak, Grace Lazos, Luke Lemmeier, Alison Owen, Annalisa Perez, Victoria Rowinsky, Amber Rush-Jones and Amber Voll.

Come out and hear some beautiful music and support your Lakewood High School musicians as well.
