The Reiki Room Healing Arts Center Is Now Open!
Anyone who has ever seen the movie, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" or "The Money Pit” can appreciate the hard work involved in remodeling and can perhaps appreciate what goes into opening a new business. At times, when I was working on getting The Reiki Room Healing Arts Center ready for opening, I felt as if I was pushing a boulder uphill, but I have enjoyed every minute of it.
I am so grateful to finally have the doors open. I hope to truly help and educate the community about Reiki and other alternative methods through treatments, as well as classes. We have a wonderful staff educated in many alternative healing modalities. Our goal is to keep it simple and affordable.
We offer treatments of Reiki, Massage, cupping, reflexology, as well as acupuncture and chiropractic care with Dr. Adam Davis, who also believes that diet and the use of supplements can cure disease, especially when incorporated with other alternative modalities.
We offer classes in Reiki as well as Infant Massage Classes, which teach the parents how to massage their babies to bring well-being and comfort as well as healing.
Reiki is a form of energy healing that is now being recognized by hospitals and physicians as a complement to treatments offered by Western medicine.
Reiki works with a person’s chakras, or energy centers, bringing balance to these areas, which become imbalanced when disease or stress affects the body.
The Reiki is simple, yet profound. People are amazed at the amount of heat that comes from my hands. I had a client jump off the table once after a treatment and check and see “where I hid whatever made my hands become so warm.” I explained, That’s the Reiki fire!
I have been doing Reiki as a Reiki Master since 2004.
I learned the healing art of Reiki when I had a herniated disc in my back. A close friend took me to see a mutual friend when I was in dire pain. She taught us Reiki over that weekend, and I began to work on myself and saw improvement.
The universe kept prompting me to continue with the Reiki training, but I was very skeptical. I was struggling with the fact that ordinary people can do extraordinary things! Looking back now, I realize I have always been a healer.
The Reiki gave me a tool to use to help others in the world.
At first I was very afraid of my gift!
It came down to me opening a Bible one day and asking God... "Okay, God. You want me to be a healer? Show me a sign!" I closed my eyes, opened the Bible and pointed to a passage.
I was stunned to read "And some shall be healers”…wow...and it was highlighted...in yellow.
Ask and ye shall receive! The rest is history. I went onto become a Reiki Master in the next few years.
It was after treating a client who was healed with fibrosis in her lungs that I discovered another gift of being a medical intuitive. I know this sounds very far-fetched, but I have testimonials from people who attest to having been helped with the healing power of Reiki.
My gift also seems to be able to help women with fertility issues. Over 8 women in the last 5 years have become pregnant with the help of the Reiki I have offered.
One girl went to the fertility doctor and discovered she was pregnant...nothing short of a miracle!
A friend had given her a gift certificate to come and see me. She was truly a skeptic, almost to the point where I was going to offer her a refund. But my inner voice told me to be patient and help her in any way that I could. The next time she came into the studio, she was 5 months pregnant, and convinced that the Reiki helped. The latest woman I helped with the Reiki was in her 40s.
Miracles do happen. Reiki has its own wisdom, so the person being treated will be helped on some level, be it mind, body or spirit. It helps to bring balance to the entire person, allowing the body to heal itself.
The Reiki treatments are offered in one hour and one and a half hour increments.
Acupuncture and chiropractic care are also wonderful healing modalities that can be underrated and sometimes misunderstood.
Our physician who is on staff, Dr. Adam Davis, is just wonderful! He is an old fashioned sort of “country” doctor who believes in treating the whole person. We are looking forward to the community getting to know Dr. Davis. He truly cares about the well-being of his patients, and uses many modalities to bring the person to optimal wellness through techniques such as acupuncture, chiropractic care and supplement and weight management care. He even offers needle-less acupuncture for those who are afraid of needles. It is just as effective and not as invasive. It is amazing the things he can tell about a person just by examining their eyes and tongue. Simple kinesiology tests can also aid in the diagnosis.
He truly takes the time to talk with the patient, unlike other practices where one feels like a number.
We are not going to rush you out the door. We truly want to help our clients on every level, emotionally, spiritually and of course physically. People are finally realizing the body follows the mind, and there truly is a mind, body and spirit connection.
The art of massage is also underrated! It is amazing how well one can feel after receiving a massage from Greg Kendzior, our gifted massage therapist. Greg is also a bit of an intuitive healer, incorporating the art of Reiki into each of his massages. Greg is also trained in Reiki as a Reiki Master, but prefers to use his gifts as a Licensed Massage Therapist. You automatically receive some Reiki when Greg works on you. He is truly a healer! His specialty is deep tissue massage, and sports injury massage.
One thing people misunderstand about massage is that one will probably have a small amount of soreness after receiving a therapeutic massage. That’s how you know it's working!
It releases toxins, helps the body to readjust to normal and heal. It is very helpful to for the body to relax, but massage also has the ability to help keep one healthy by promoting proper function of all of one’s systems.
Greg also performs other healing modalities such as reflexology and cupping.
Reflexology is the ultimate foot rub! It deals with different pressure points in the feet to bring healing to specific areas of the body. Each point in the foot has nerve endings that correlate to different system functions.
Cupping is an ancient technique used to open and clear chakras, and is often not offered as it is such an ancient technique. It is very helpful to use during cold and flu season to release congestion.
Cupping or reflexology can be added onto the service of Reiki or massage for a nominal fee. Our massage treatments are done in increments of 30 minutes to 90 minutes. And it is for the full time you are scheduled. Some places offer an hour massage that is only 50 minutes long...
Not so with the Reiki Room! We want our clients to get their money’s worth.
We are also very reasonably-priced to allow people to afford treatments. You can experience a spa-like treatment without the spa price here. The Reiki Room is also a provider for Parker Hannifin in Cleveland. It’s refreshing to know that insurance companies are now also seeing the value in Reiki and other modalities like massage and acupuncture.
In addition to our appointments and classes we offer a variety of Reiki-related and spiritually-minded gifts. Working with gems and crystals with the Reiki, brought me to begin to make Reiki Jewelry (Jewels by Gina) which is designed to bring healing to the wearer. I use crystal and semi-precious gemstone beads to wire-wrap gems and crystals for different healing needs. The gems and crystals can also be incorporated into stained glass pieces designed to hang in one's window (Gem Cleansers) and allow the gem or crystal to be removed for meditation and healing, then replaced in the window to be cleansed and recharged. It is my own design, and there is even a patent pending.
My art has been sold locally in some of the shops in Lakewood but is now almost exclusively sold here in my own shop.
There are more things to come…I hope to help local spiritually gifted artists sell their work as well.
The Reiki Room also offers special packages for anniversaries, birthdays and weddings.
We can have a gift waiting for your special someone when they arrive for their massage or Reiki appointment such as a box of truffles or cupcakes (from local businesses in Lakewood.) Or a custom handmade pendant or gem cleanser!
One may also try an acupuncture/Reiki/massage treatment for one low price. Couples massages as well asReiki/Massage combinations are also available. Bring us a stressed-out bride and we will have her floating on air in no time!
In addition to the services and gifts, the Reiki Room is offering a free monthly Reiki Circle’s to the community to help bring awareness about alternative healing.
A Reiki Circle is an opportunity for people who may be curious about Reiki to try it. It’s basically a gathering of people who enjoy giving and receiving Reiki an opportunity to do so. As Reiki practitioners, we seldom receive Reiki ourselves. It also gives students learning Reiki a chance to practice. We usually meet the second Sunday of every month, barring holidays, then we switch to a different Sunday. We offer a guest speaker and a different food theme (brought as an offering to compensate for receiving “free” Reiki) to keep things interesting. We also are looking for sponsors to allow us to use their space in the community. Sometimes we meet at a local restaurant and ask the chef to demonstrate how to cook a healthy meal. Or perhaps we go to a studio and learn some form of art such as how to draw a Mandela. We also would enjoy offering a drumming circle to our group.
Dr. Davis is always willing to discuss healthy lifestyle changes we can all make as well as demonstrate his techniques of non=invasive acupuncture and gentle chiropractic care. And Greg offers hand and arm massages to get us feeling relaxed.
Watch the website for information, as the theme and location can change monthly.
I hope the community will receive us with open arms, as we truly want to become an asset to the community by bringing health and education to people at a level they can all afford.
Dr. Davis and I are available for speaking engagements concerning the healthy benefits of our treatments. I love Lakewood, and we are very excited to be here. Our doors are open weekly
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.
All other times are strictly by appointment. Watch the website for other special classes and events!
There’s always something happening at The Reiki Room!
