Access Your Benefits!
Are you having trouble making ends meet in the current economy? If you are over fifty-five years of age or are living with a disability, free one-on-one help is available right here in Lakewood. Donald Hill and Ann Gillett, from the MetroHealth Benefits Enrollment Center, want you to take advantage of a free service that offers significant savings on monthly food, health, and utility bills.
On Tuesday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m., Hill and Gillett will be discussing the Access Your Benefits Enrollment Center in the Main Library Auditorium. Access Your Benefits Enrollment Center is a service that helps to determine eligibility for benefit assistance programs available to seniors and persons with disabilities. MetroHealth Advantage is a screening location, and Donald Hill is the Access Your Benefits Coordinator. Ann Gillett has volunteered with the MetroHealth Advantage program for five years, and she helps seniors apply for benefits through the Access Your Benefits program.
Their talk will take place in the Main Library Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. The presentation is free and open to the public; no advance registration is required. After the talk, participants will be able to sign up for free one-on-one appointments, which will be held in the Main Library Learning Lab. At these one-on-one appointments, after verifying your income to determine that you meet program requirements, volunteers will help you enroll in programs that offer significant savings on monthly food expenses, Medicare premiums, prescription drug costs, and utility bills. These one-on-one appointments will be held on Tuesdays from September 11 through November 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Main Library Learning Lab. For more information call the Main Library at (216) 226-8275, ext. 127.
