Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Accepts Donations To 4th Annual Holiday Bid & Buy Online Auction
The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce is accepting donations to the 4th Annual “Holiday Bid & Buy” online auction, which begins on Sunday, November 11th and ends on Friday, December 7th, 2012 at 8 p.m.
The auction will again be hosted by BiddingForGood, a marketplace that connects consumers to nonprofit organizations by hosting online auctions. The BiddingForGood online Bidder Community is a group of cause-minded shoppers – in Lakewood and across the U.S. – who shop on BiddingForGood while supporting the fundraising efforts of nonprofit organizations. This feel-good shopping model allows bidders to bid on locally donated items such as vacations, sports tickets, dining gift certificates, spa packages, electronics, retail gift cards, entertainment, unique experiences, and more. BiddingForGood recently announced that their online bidder community has spiked to 330,000 and counting.
In an effort to promote local businesses to this ever-growing community of online shoppers, the Chamber is now accepting donations to the 4th Annual “Holiday Bid & Buy” auction. When a business, organization, or individual donates to the auction, the item will be featured with its own bidding page, with the company/organization logo and a direct link to the donor’s website, plus a descriptive write-up of the item and a photo. In exchange for a donated item, the donor receives 4 weeks of targeted marketing to members and supporters of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, residents of Lakewood and surrounding communities, and to the 330,000+ members of the BiddingForGood community of online bidders. The Chamber will promote the auction locally via print, web, and social media, and the BiddingForGood auction platform also includes a robust social media component that allows sharing of pages via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
The Holiday Bid & Buy Auction allows bidders to find great deals on goods and services from their favorite local businesses while supporting the economic development and ’Shop Local’ efforts of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce.
