Veterans Sought For Annual Recognition Program

Veterans and their families, or surviving family members, are invited to attend the 16th Annual Veteran's Day Recognition program on Wednesday, November 7 at Garfield Middle School. The program is sponsored by Garfield Middle School students and staff and “H2O,” Help To Others, youth volunteer organization.

A breakfast will be provided beginning at 7:30 a.m. and veterans are encouraged to bring military service memorabilia to share with students during the breakfast. The recognition program begins at 8:45 a.m. in the school gym. After the program, Garfield teachers invite interested veterans to share their memories and service experiences with individual classrooms. Lunch will be provided for veterans staying for classroom presentations at approximately 11:30 a.m.
