Taster Twins Head for the Borderline Cafe

We are breakfast people; traditional breakfast food should always be on the menu, in our humble opinion. If you share our predilection for pancakes, enthusiasm for eggs, and penchant for potatoes, you too will become a fan of Borderline Cafe! Although we crave their delightful menu any time of day, they are only open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Borderline Cafe makes these limited hours count by serving delectable meals in an intimate (some might say overly cozy) setting with a bright and colorful Southwestern-inspired decor. It seems as if people who visit this tiny establishment soon become regulars and to the uninitiated, it is a hidden gem to be discovered.

When we arrived on a Thursday mid-morning, we were fortunate enough to snag the last open table. The place had filled up quickly but the full house did not faze the friendly, welcoming staff in the least. They seemed quite accustomed to managing a hungry crowd in a small space. We did not have to wait long before the lusciously hearty banana pancakes were presented before us. Those pancakes were the epitome of melty-hot banana goodness enveloped in maple syrup delight. We also had a tomato and spinach omelet, which was undeniably fluffy and scrumptious. Borderline Cafe's simple touches of quality and fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared, elevate the simplest offerings to a higher level. Sure, we can make eggs and toast at home (if we were ever inclined to do so), but the lovely eggs, decadently thick slices of toast, and mouthwatering hash browns render the contents of our own kitchens completely unsatisfying.

Borderline Cafe provides a good, honest value and the portions are generous. The service is quick and efficient, without wasting time with unnecessary banter. Despite the influx of eager patrons, we never felt rushed and we enjoyed the bustling atmosphere and positive energy. We can't wait to hurry back, grab a table, and try their tempting lunch options. We would encourage everyone to try Borderline Cafe, even though you might be competing with us for one of their precious tables!
