Good Day Moon Gallery Holds Its First Fundraiser To Support People With Mental Illness

Our mission is to sell local art and support people with mental illness. We created a street festival to bring attention to our neighborhood and help the emerging artists. Art is meant to be affordable to anyone and is a great outlet.

Mental health is a touchy subject, but we’ve managed put together classes and support groups through the local NAMI chapter. Mental illness comes in the form of hundreds of disorders and I learn something new every day. When you shop at our gallery you are supporting these people and the programs we provide. We still need your help.

We have many more event ideas and have started a crowd-funding campaign to help keep us going. Please check out the Good Day Moon Gallery crowd-funding link: http://www.gofundme.com/ciasac to see how you can help.

Saturday October 11th the gallery will be hosting its first fundraiser and I am confident it will be fun for all. For every $5 donation you will get a chance to throw a paint filled water balloon at me. For $10 you can hit below the belt. We are taking the term “tortured artist” literally! If you can’t be at the event or live out of town you can still take part in it. We will have a “designated pitcher” on hand taking the shots for you. Simply go to the Go Fund Me link. Just give us your name (or you can remain anonymous), how many throws you want and the target. Walk-ups are also welcome the day of the event. We will also have some artists set up with their work for sale the day of the fundraiser. This event will be videotaped and posted on Facebook and YouTube.
