Window Painting Contest, Online Auction Highlight Lakewood Chamber's Fall Calendar
The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and Beck Center for the Arts are teaming up once again to present the West End Halloween Window Walk. The 10th annual community window-painting contest is open to all students in grades K-12, families, groups, and adults. Over 100 Halloween-themed masterpieces will appear on the windows of Detroit Avenue businesses from Arthur to Sloane during the week of October 19th. A “Best-In-Show” prize will be awarded to winners in each of 5 age categories: Grade K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and Adult (18+), plus the Group and Family categories, at the awards ceremony at the Beck Center at 2pm on Saturday, October 25th. The Chamber brings back another event that has created excitement and friendly competitive bidding since 2009: the 6th Annual “Holiday Bid & Buy” online goods & services auction. The Holiday Bid & Buy online auction opens for bidding on November 7th and showcases items from many of the area's best locally owned businesses. For shoppers, it's a great place to shop local for the holidays while supporting the Chamber’s economic development programs. For auction donors, your donation with a link to your website is featured for the four weeks of the auction and seen by shoppers throughout the region and members of the Bidding For Good community. In addition to these two community events, the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce is offering outstanding educational programming and networking events for members and guests this fall. COSE presents Jackie Bebenroth: “Storytelling That Sells” at the Chamber’s September 19th luncheon meeting and a “Power Up” Business After Hours networking event at 16-Bit Bar+Arcade on September 25th. October events include a free educational seminar on marketing your business through special events on October 8th and the Chamber’s annual joint meeting with the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce on October 23rd, sponsored by Cox Business.
