First Federal Lakewood Debuts New Look

For generations, First Federal Lakewood Corporate Headquarters has called Downtown Lakewood home, and now a new era has begun with a completely revitalized Lakewood branch. As the largest independent mutual bank in Ohio, we have long been reinvesting our assets and customer deposits back into the Lakewood community in the form of small business loans, residential mortgages, and funding our neighbors’ home improvement projects. We are eager to share the results of our own renovation with the entire Lakewood community!

Our branch remodel features a whole new look as well as extensive upgrades that provide customers with an improved approach to full-service banking that is faster and easier, yet still fully focused on delivering a personalized and satisfying banking experience. We have designed the space with both our customers and the entire community in mind. With the new space, we have the flexibility to invite the community in for events throughout the year. That is important to us because we are deeply rooted here in Lakewood—from hiring local residents to supporting community events and organizations—we are focused on working with our neighbors to continually build this strong and vibrant community.

The First Federal Lakewood branch was recently featured on the Lakewood Historic Home Tour and we have restored the branch with a nod to our rich history, but with a fresh, modern approach. As an example, we discovered an unexpected treasure during construction. Our recently restored floor is made from quality Tennessee Marble, a material prized by architects and builders for its pinkish-grey color and ease of polishing. Widely used in several of Cleveland’s historic buildings constructed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it can also be found in some of the most notable buildings across the U.S., including the National Gallery of Art, The National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C., Grand Central Terminal in New York, and sections of the United States Capitol building. Our Tennessee Marble floor was believed to have been covered over in the 1950s and nearly forgotten. We’re thrilled to have restored it to its former luster.

Now that the renovation is complete we will continue the seamless service we provided throughout our renovation – just with a lot less dust! Please come over and see what we’ve done with the place - and how together we are helping our hometown thrive. Join us on Saturday, October 11 for our Customer Appreciation festivities!
