LHS Boys' Cross Country District Champions

Congratulations to the Lakewood High School boys' varsity cross country team on capturing the Division 1 District Championship, the team's first title since 2007. The girls' team finished 8th, with junior Mallory Shaw qualifying for Regionals. 

Scoring for the boys were sophomore Henry Bish (5th place), senior Bely Stockman (10th), sophomore Tysaun Blevins (13th), junior Jacob Gregory (17th) and sophomore Micah Swartz (18th). Freshman Evan Budzar and sophomore Gunnar Stockman are also part of the winning team. The team is coached by Stephanie Toole and assistant coach Jacob Ott.

On the girls' team, junior Mallory Shaw ran an outstanding race at Districts and finished 8th overall and qualified for the Regional meet as an individual. The girls' team is coached by Abbey Gleason and Assistant Coach Danielle Hammond.

The top four teams at Districts (and 16 individuals) advanced on to the Division 1 Regional Meet in Tiffin on October 25 where the boys' team finished 13th and Shaw finished 30th in the Divison 1 girls' race.
