One World Shop Celebrating 35th Anniversary!

One World Shop is celebrating its 35th anniversary!!! One World Shop, a non-profit fair trade organization and Cleveland’s original fair trade retailer, is located at 19321 Detroit Rd. in Rocky River. Grass roots for the organization were established by the Lakewood Presbyterian Church in 1979 and the first shop location was on Madison in Lakewood where the premises of the fair trade movement were adopted and introduced into the community. In 1992, One World Shop moved to its current location, where it continues to thrive and promote fair trade.

All items at One World Shop are fair trade and handcrafted with sustainable materials using traditional skills that support communities in need and provide support to economically disadvantaged artisans in developing countries. As a result, these villages and people’s lives are steadily improving due to the growth of fair trade and the opportunities provided by the fair trade movement, increased access to healthcare, childcare and education, both for the children and adults.

This fall, One World Shop has all new collections of ethical accessories, gifts, jewelry and clothing from over 30 various artisan communities and will feature scarves from over 7 different countries! A must see!!

Fair Trade pays it forward, as well as gives it back!! Join One World Shop on its journey to create positive change at its 35th Anniversary Autumn Harvest Benefit on Friday, November 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Rocky River! There will be food, drink, dance, and live Music by ATLAS.
