LHS Musicians Participate In Honors Festival

Five LHS band members and six choir members participated in the Ohio Music Educators Association's Honors Festival for districts 4 and 7, which cover Northeast Ohio. The festival featured two honors band an honors choir and was held November 15 at Cleveland State.

Members of the honors ensembles are chosen by their directors based on their music ablility and merit. Representing LHS were choir members Faith Costello, Anthony DeJesus, Emily Marek, William Solarz, Justice Thomas and Melissa Trnkus. Participating band members were Nathan Bour, Veronica Gordon, Tess Marjanovic, Stephen Moncol and Taylor Wohlfeil.

The students in the festival met for the first time in their ensembles on Friday, November 14 to rehearse for about six hours and then returned on Saturday, November 15 for a performance in Waetjen auditorium on Cleveland State's campus.

Guest conductors are also brought in for the students to work with during the two days. Congratulations to all the students involved and to Choir Director Peter Hampton and Band Director Clinton Steinbrunner.
