80 Volunteers Gather To Paint Lakewood Resident's House

Eighty volunteers of Neubert Painting gathered on July 16 to paint a century home at 1356 Lakeland Avenue, free of charge, as part of their Annual Charity Paint Giveaway.

Each year Neubert Painting offers free painting services to a homeowner or non-profit organization that needs to have their home or building painted and can’t afford it. Sherwin Williams donates the paint and Chipotle Mexican Grill and Einstein Bagels help sponsor the event. Recipients of the Giveaway are selected through Neubert Painting’s Facebook page. To date, Neubert Painting has donated more than $100,000 in free painting services to needy homeowners and non-profit organizations.

This year Sean Collins, who has cerebral palsy, was selected as the recipient of the 7th Annual Charity Paint Giveaway. “I’m just so grateful that a company would think of me, and help bring my historic house up to date,” says Collins. His house was built in 1899.

Collins volunteers at Lakewood New Life Church and participates in Return to Golf® a program designed to help physically disabled persons through a creative combination of rehabilitation-based golf fitness and recreational therapy.

The colors he chose for his home are Naval blue with white trim.

“Our Community is blessed with generous neighbors such as Neubert Painting. Their contribution to Sean Collins and his neighborhood is immeasurable,” said Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers, who was on hand for the event.

John Neubert, owner of Neubert Painting grew up in Lakewood and says community involvement will always be part of his company’s culture.

Neubert Painting, one of the largest house painting companies in the Greater Cleveland area, is a 40-year-old business with a long history of partnering with local lower-income schools and churches to help them maintain the interiors and exteriors of their buildings.
