Buckeye Beer Engine Gets The Taster Twins Going

Whether you're a die-hard beer aficionado or a tee-totaler, Buckeye Beer Engine on Madison Avenue is a place where both types of folks can enjoy themselves and come away happy and satisfied. Come in for either some frosty suds or a tasty meal (ideally, both!). When you enter the cheerful confines of Beer Engine, it is reminiscent of an old world Bier Stube. You are greeted by friendly staff who take a team approach to serving the variety of choices presented on the menu.

Looking for a place to eat after church with a few of our family members in tow, we took the recommendation of Beer Engine's staff member Liz, whose invitation we were delighted to accept. A specialty of their Sunday brunch is the Bloody Mary Bar--featuring all the ingredients necessary to create your own personalized spirited concoction. As always, the accommodating staff is ready, willing, and able to assist you in making the perfect combination. They are also happy to suggest one or more of the more than two dozen beers on draught.

The Sunday brunch menu offers some unusual, tempting combinations. One choice was the Southern favorite boneless  fried chicken breast and house-made Belgian waffles with warm maple syrup, served with cheddar cheese grits. We tasted a decadent "Cyclops" burger with bacon and eggs; the burger was served with a breaded pickle spear--perfect for a tangy bite after the richness of bacon, eggs, and beef on a bun!  We also sampled the tasty, juicy grilled kielbasa which came with eggs, a smoked cheddar and chive biscuit and spicy tomato jam--definitely something you do not see on your everyday brunch menu. Our young niece chose zesty boneless chicken wings, accompanied by golden tater tots. Our mom really enjoyed her veggie omelet , a fluffy amalgamation of mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and cheese--a pleasing classic. Everything was exceptionally flavorful and served with a smile by one of the obliging staff members. Pair with a crisp hard cider, or your preferred beverage--brewed or otherwise, and treat yourself to a meal that is hearty and satisfying. Get some fuel in your engine by visiting Buckeye Beer Engine!
