The 2016 Great Big Home + Garden Show

The 2016 Great Big Home + Garden Show presented by 84 Lumber will bring exhibitors, celebrities and special events to Northeast Ohio when it comes to Cleveland’s I-X Center February 5-14. A Celebration!-themed Garden Showcase, cooking stage, fully-constructed Idea and Hi-Tech Entertainment homes, and Urban Farmhouse are among the many highlights sure to excite and surprise show attendees. Home and garden celebrities making appearances include HGTV’s Two Chicks and a Hammer presenting their new show Good Bones, the Cooking Channel’s Beekman Boys and Jason Cameron of DIY’s Desperate Landscapes, Man Caves and Sledgehammer. At The Great Big Home + Garden Show, visitors can find innovative products, new ideas, practical advice and great deals in remodeling, home improvement and gardening with hundreds of experts under one roof.

Your Future Continues, Transfer Options for Tri-C Students

Students and parents are invited to visit the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Westshore Campus on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 9 a.m. to noon for “Your Future Continues, Transfer Options for Tri-C Students.”
The event will provide students and parents with information about how credits earned at Tri-C will transfer to four year colleges/universities along with information about Cuyahoga Community College’s Honors Program and scholarships. Tri-C has over 80 scholarships for fall 2016 which will cover full tuition costs for new students.
This program will include sessions on the following topics:
• Honors Program – learn about Tri-C’s Honors Program and Honors Fellowship scholarships.
• Essays – learn about writing effective essays for college admission and scholarships.
• Dual Admission programs – learn about the opportunity to take four year college/university courses while enrolled at Tri-C and paying Tri-C tuition rates for these courses.
• Selective College Admission – Case Western Reserve University and Oberlin College will present information on applying to selective colleges/universities and the Common Application.
• Phi Theta Kappa – learn about this international Honor Society and its scholarships.
• College Now Greater Cleveland scholarship programs
• Representatives from public and private four year colleges/universities providing information on how Tri-C credits apply toward four year degrees.

Once again we are gathering to collect food on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7th 10:00am to 2:00pm at Lakewood High School. This year we will be at the main entrance and not the underpass as that is gone! 14100 Franklin Blvd. corner of Bunts and Franklin in Lakewood, enter from Franklin. You won’ miss our volunteers eager to unload your cars and get your information for a donation letter.
Help us celebrate our 5th year by stopping by and dropping off dry dog and cat food. You’ll be home before the Superbowl starts! This is our major food drive of the year and we have had a great time doing it.
We’ll be there rain, shine or blizzard so we’ll be watching for you!
