District Earns State Communication Awards

The Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) recently recognized Lakewood City Schools with two Achievement Awards during its annual state Spring Conference in Columbus, Ohio, April 14-15.

Achievement Awards recognize exemplary school public relations and marketing plans, marketing materials, websites, videos, print newsletters, special purpose publications, photography, writing pieces and e-newsletters. The competition is open to all public or private schools and districts, career and vocational centers and education-related organizations across the state.

Lakewood City Schools received a Mark of Distinction award for "A Plus for Our Students; A+ for the Community," in the Special Purpose Publication category. Mark of Distinction awards are presented to entries that receive a score of 90 percent or higher. The District also received a Mark of Excellence award in the Social Media category for its Facebook page. Mark of Excellence awards are given to entries that receive scores between 80 and 89 percent.
