Far West Center Grant Helps Low-Income Persons Receive Mental Health Care

Far West Center announces a recent grant award from The Elisabeth Severance Prentiss Foundation to respond assist persons without insurance receive mental health care and recovery services. The Center is extremely grateful to the Foundation for its longstanding show of support for mental health treatment and wellness.

In 2016, Far West Center will serve over 1,700 individuals with serious mental health problems; 75% receive public assistance that only partially covers their care. Far West Center relies on support from partners like the Prentiss Foundation to fill the gap in funding mental health recovery services.

The Prentiss Foundation’s mission is to support and advance health care in the Greater Cleveland community. The Foundation awards grants for initiatives designed to improve health care quality or delivery, for programs that increase access to healthcare to the underserved or indigent, or for medical research. Support for Far West Center’s services to low-income individuals and families is an example of the Foundation’s leadership and generosity in promoting public health care.
