The Lakewood Teachers Association appreciates the continued support of the Lakewood Community. The LTA enjoys showing its gratitude in a variety of ways throughout the community. All first graders in the Lakewood School District received a book, courtesy of the LTA. Books were chosen specifically for each student based upon their individual reading level. If you know a first, soon-to-be-second grader in the District, ask them about their special book and maybe even ask them to read a few pages to you. We are certain they will be excited to show off their reading skills!

The Lakewood Teachers Association is proud to sponsor the ‘Rookies’ t-ball team through the Lakewood Rec Department! On June 2nd, the Rookies, their families, as well as the opposing team (Zies McGreevey Funeral Home) were treated to Mitchell’s ice cream after the game. Members of the LTA were at the game to not only root on these aspiring t-ball athletes, but to scoop and serve the sweet treats! Best of luck to the Rookies as well as all the t-ball teams for a fun and safe summer session!

We can’t forget our 2016 Graduates! The Lakewood Teachers Association is proud and excited to congratulate the graduating Class of 2016. We have watched you grow from learning your ABC’s to walking across the stage at graduation and everything in between. The LTA applauds your accomplishments and looks forward to all that your futures hold! The Teachers of the Lakewood City Schools have supported you while you were under our ‘watch’ and will continue to keep you all in our thoughts as you move on. Do not hesitate to reach out to us for advice, guidance, or just a warm ‘Hello.’ The purple banners that hang on the light poles along Franklin Ave. are a visual reminder of the support and well-wishes of the Lakewood Teachers Association. #LTAproud2teach
