Race For Home 5K Run And One Mile Walk

Please join the Lakewood Area Collaborative for an exciting, inaugural event!

The Race For Home is a 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk which will take place on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Edgewater Park in Cleveland. Proceeds from the race will benefit A Place 4 Me, a community initiative focused on ending youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County. We hope to raise awareness of the need for Foster and Adoptive families for the hundreds of children awaiting a safe, loving home in our neighborhoods.

Over 1700 children in Cuyahoga County are currently in an out-of-home placement and in the custody of the Division of Children and Family Services, with teenagers accounting for about half of the nearly 600 children in permanent custody (http://cfs.cuyahogacounty.us/en-US/statistics-reports.aspx). The Lakewood Area Collaborative is committed to working in partnership with CCDCFS to help heighten awareness of the crucial need for foster and adoptive homes and identify individuals and families willing to open their hearts and provide love and stability.

Sign up to run or walk with friends, neighbors, family, and colleagues. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome too!

The Lakewood Area Collaborative is a group of agencies, organizations, and concerned individuals working together to make sure a network of services and supports are available and accessible to children, youth, and families.
