Lakewood Women’s Club Raises Money For Annual ‘Pumpkin Fun Run’ At City Wide Garage Sale

Members of Lakewood Women’s Club joined together this past week to donate and sell their personal items to support the organization’s fundraising efforts during the City’s 7th Annual City-wide Garage Sale.

Thankfully, the rain didn’t keep the bargain hunters away. Eileen Wilbourn, who hosted the garage sale, was well prepared with tents, stakes, tarps and ties. Dedicated volunteers arrived rain or shine to sort, price and sell some of the most fascinating knick-knacks, antiques and luxury items.

“We have to thank LakewoodAlive and The City of Lakewood for hosting an event with so many positive outcomes,” said Kristy Feyedelem, president of Lakewood Women’s Club. “It gives us all a chance to recycle, reuse and reduce while supporting great causes and our community.”

The Women’s Club raised over $600 which will be used to fund the annual ‘Pumpkin Fun Run,’ the organization’s largest fundraiser. Pumpkin Fun Run will be held this year on Sunday, October 30 at Lakewood Park. The proceeds raised from ‘Pumpkin Fun Run’ will benefit Trinity Lakewood Community Outreach and a college scholarship for a female senior who is a Lakewood resident.

The Lakewood Women’s Club is a philanthropic group of women that are interested in serving their community and stimulating their minds while enjoying a program geared toward fun and friendship. If you are interested in joining or helping out with any of our events, we would love to hear from you. We can be reached at www.lakewoodwomensclub.com.
