Back To School Health And Safety Carnival

It’s back to school time! Not only is it time for supplies, it’s time for a health and safety check. For this reason, Madison Eye Care is hosting its first annual Back to School Health and Safety Carnival. Madison Eye Care will be providing free vision screenings to all children under the age of 18.

“80% of what a child learns in school is processed through the visual system,” says Dr. Peter Mogyordy. “Perfect vision is not just seeing 20/20, healthy eye muscle balance and coordination are vital for success in the academic environment.”

In addition to a vision screening Dr. Mogyordy as well as Dr. Gregory Kovats and Dr. Leah Steele will be screening for eye muscle balance.

Other health and safety information and services will be provided by the following organizations: Dr. Emily Zeisler from Lakewood Dental Arts will be providing information on children’s oral health. A representative from Connecting for Kids, a nonprofit with a mission of providing education and support for families with questions or concerns about their child, will be available to answer questions. The Ohio City Bike Co-op will be available to do bicycle and helmet safety checks and on-site safety fixes. A police officer from the Lakewood Police Department will be joining as well to provide safety tips to kids and families.

It wouldn’t be a carnival without food and games! Free hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, ice cream, face painting and games sponsored by Madison Eye Care, DB4K, Original Penquin, Kensie, Transitions, Clear Choice Custom Lasik Center, and Cleveland Eye Clinic. Raffle prizes donated by Madison Eye Care, Lake Erie Crushers, Lake County Captains, Wildflower Bakery, Pet's General, Campbell & #39's Popcorn, Beck Center for the Arts, Lakewood Dental Arts, Ray Ban and Coopervision.

Hop on your bikes and bring your family and friends on Monday, August 1st from 4-8 p.m. for the 1st Annual Madison Eye Care Health and Safety Carnival!
