Summer Book Sale

On August 6 the 39th Annual Lakewood Arts Festival will be held in downtown Lakewood, and the library will be joining in on these festivities by hosting our Friends of the Library Book Sale, which will take place in the basement from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Our book sales are one of the biggest highlights that we have the pleasure to host here at Lakewood Public Library. The collection this time around is going to feature some pretty groovy stuff; starting with a huge collection of vinyl records donated to us in great condition! Also, in honor of the Arts Festival, we have about 100 original watercolor paintings generously donated to us by the family of a Lakewood couple who were devoted artists.

Paul and Ina Lustig were both very talented individuals who worked with multiple medias to create beautiful works of art, the family's donation of their beautiful paintings is highly appreciated, and attests to the beautiful life these two created and led together.

Although this is the only book sale that doesn’t have a preview sale for Friends of the Library, those who wish to sign up and join the Friends can do so for a membership fee of $2.00 a year which may be paid for at our main circulation desk, through the mail, through the library’s website at lakewoodpubliclibrary.org or even at the door of the book sale.

The Friends of Lakewood Public Library are some of the most dedicated people around, they sacrifice so much of their free time to ensure the best quality for our patrons. It is also undeniably the support we receive from our community, not only in proceeds but also in thoughtful donations, that helps the Library bring you spectacular entertainment and educational programing, which we are so proud of.

It is truly the genuine spirit of giving, between both our community and volunteers that allows for our Library to continue to meet the high standards that can be expected when you cross over the threshold of our institution.
