Lakewood Catholic Academy to be recognized at National Philanthropy Day celebration

Lakewood Catholic Academy will be presented with the Youth Group in Philanthropy Award at the National Philanthropy Day celebration on November 4, 2016 at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.  If you're downtown the evening of November 4th, you'll see the Terminal Tower lit blue and gold in honor of the event, which has become a cherished annual tradition in the lives of area philanthropists and fundraisers.   Approximately 500 attendees enjoy the opportunity to hear inspiring stories of the dedication and spirit of the award recipients and the mission-driven work that they support.

Each year the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Cleveland Chapter's members nominate and select award recipients in 7 categories.  This year’s recipients and nominators are:

Philanthropist Leadership Award: Kathy C. & James R. Pender (Co-nominated by: Jack Stinedurf, Beech Brook & Leanne Dewyer, Playhouse Square);

Corporate Leadership Award: Citizens Bank (Nominated by: Michael Bennett, Cleveland Leadership Center);

Foundation Leadership Award: Richard J. Fasenmyer Foundation (Nominated by:Carrie Henning, Cleveland Clinic);

Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer Award: Michael Goler (Nominated by:Laura Frye, Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center);

Youth in Philanthropy Award: Marcia Brown (Nominated by: Sue Starrett, Shaker Schools Foundation);

Youth Group in Philanthropy Award: Lakewood Catholic Academy (Nominated by:Nikki Mohar, Lakewood Catholic Academy);

Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award: Karen Kannenberg, CFRE (Nominated by: Joan Palumbo, The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland).
