Get Your Groove On And Party For The Children

What are you doing on Friday, October 21st?  If you’re hip and groovy, you’ll be partying on down at That 80s Party at Vosh starting at 6 p.m. That’s when the fun begins with an open bar, appetizers, games of chance, groovy 80s music and at 9 p.m., live music from That 80s Band.

That 80s Party is being hosted by Rocky River Howard Hanna to raise funds to benefit the Children’s Free Care Fund which helps to assure that children are never denied the best medical care available - - - whether helping children without health care pay for treatment or helping fund cutting-edge care that insurance may not cover.

“Our agents and staff are involved in many community activities throughout the year, but this is our annual signature event,” said Sue Hustek, manager of Rocky River Howard Hanna. “We are honored to have the chance to pull together with our community and raise funds to help provide care for children.”

Now in its 29th year, Howard Hanna began its campaign for children in 1988 with each Howard Hanna office having a Choo Choo Chow Chow luncheon during the holidays. The agents and managers made the food and invited clients, friends, family and the community to attend. The luncheon rotated from office to office like a choo choo train making stops. As the company grew, the Chow Chows grew and over time, the events have taken on different themes.

Thanks to the support of the community and to local businesses that help to sponsor events and/or donate auction items, Howard Hanna has raised and donated more than $12 million to children’s hospitals and related programs/activities in the markets the company serves. In 2015, checks were presented to hospitals totaling $1,033,578.00.

Locally, funds have been donated to Akron Children’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, MetroHealth, and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

That 80s Party at Vosh, 1414 Riverside Drive in Lakewood, holds many surprises in store and promises to be a happening you won’t want to miss.  If you haven’t heard That 80s Band, you’re in for a real treat. It captures the moments and looks of the 80's so well, you will swear you went through a time machine. The band uses multiple singers to encompass the many musical styles of the time. Authentic outfits and sounds further enhance the experience. That 80s Band covers such artists as The Eurythmics, Wang Chung, Tears for Fears, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Def Leppard; and that's just a taste. Make no mistake - this is the ultimate party band! Bring your BIG HAIRSKINNY TIES, and SHORT SKIRTS WITH LEG WARMERS and get ready to rock in premier 80s style with………THAT 80s BAND.

“This is going to be an awesome event,” said Hustek. “What a fun way to spend a Friday evening with a group of friends dancing down Memory Lane and all the while raising money to help children.”
