Lakewood Community Recreation & Education Department - Youth & Adult Athletic Commission Volunteer Openings

The Lakewood Community Recreation & Education Department is in the process of filling two (2) vacancies on the Youth Athletic Commission (YAC) and one (1) vacancy on the Adult Athletic Commission (AAC). The ideal candidate(s) should have expertise and/or experience in the areas of recreation, education, or general program participation. All interested candidates must reside in Lakewood. Monthly meetings, subcommittee work, as well as participation in community events, are among the time requirements. 

YAC meetings take place on the 2nd Monday of each month, in the Board of Education building beginning at 6:30 p.m. AAC meetings take place on the 4th Monday of each month in the Board of Education building, beginning at 7:30  p.m.

The Youth and Adult Athletic Commissions members are interviewed and selected by the Community Recreation and Education Commission (CREC), which is an advisory commission appointed by the Lakewood City Schools Board of Education.
