District To Host K-5 Literacy Night On Oct 26

The Teaching & Learning Department of the Lakewood City Schools will host a K-5 Literacy Night on Thursday, October 26 from 6:30-7:30 pm at Emerson Elementary School. The program will share what the District is doing to grow readers and writers through the The Columbia Reading & Writing Project curriculum. Parents will also learn how to support their student's work at home. The District has been using the Columbia curriculum in some capacity since the 2014-2015 school year, when it was rolled out in the K-2 grades. Since then, teachers have seen impressive strides in the literacy progress of its students. Come to the Literacy Night and find out why the District believes this is the best curriculum for our students.
