From The Archives Of The Lakewood Historical Society
Winton Place was the first apartment building in the area to be accessible by air, land, and water. Pictured here is the first helicopter landing at Winton Place on October 7th, 1963. The helicopter was piloted by Ken Ross of Sundorph Aeronautical Corporation, and was delivering the final bucket of concrete for the “sky closing” of the building the next day.
