Footpath Foundation Finds Home At LaunchHouse Lakewood

Campers circle up with Footpath Foundation staff members and counselors.

Footpath Foundation, a 4-year-old nonprofit dedicated to providing outdoor experiences for kids who would not otherwise have those opportunities, has found a home at LaunchHouse Lakewood.

The growing nonprofit, which has been operating from the homes and offices of its board members, is now headquartered on the second floor of LaunchHouse Lakewood, a co-working space at 16017 Detroit Avenue, according to Mary Macias, Footpath’s president and CEO.

“We are thrilled to have a space of our own. We needed this,” Macias said.

Footpath Foundation makes it possible for about 140 kids – most from the inner city -- to attend overnight camps each summer. In addition, the foundation provides afterschool Footpath Nature Club programming during the school year as well as outdoor experiences and equestrian therapy.

Footpath’s mission is to give all children outdoor experiences they need to become resilient and productive adults. You can contact the organization by visiting www.footpathfoundation.org or calling (216) 200-6572.

Todd Goldstein, CEO of LaunchHouse Lakewood, said the co-working space is a place “where small businesses can grow and thrive together.

“We are so excited to welcome the Footpath Foundation to our family of entrepreneurs,” Goldstein said. “Their mission is critical to the development of Cleveland’s youth, and we are so grateful to be a small part of that by giving their staff a home. They've had such a positive impact on our city and I know they'll continue to do so as they integrate into our community."

LaunchHouse Lakewood has a conference room, printer, fax machine and Internet access. It is located in the downtown area and in walking distance of restaurants, shops, and other local businesses and services.
